Fairview Street was named in 1967 by Alf Steel, the developer, who wanted a name that made the area sound more attractive. A developer bought the farm to the south that same year, and Alderson Road carries the name of the family who originally owned the land there. Homes from those subdivisions are now old enough that their first roofs are often worn, patched or due for replacement.
The suburb's western boundary follows Tramway Road, shown as a proposed tramway on an 1865 map. The 2023 Census recorded an average of 3.2 bedrooms per occupied dwelling in the Fairview Downs census area, a sign of plenty of larger family homes. Bigger homes usually mean bigger roofs, with more hips, valleys and ridges to keep watertight.
We look after Fairview Downs owners the same way as all our roof care for Hamilton households, inspecting for free and quoting in writing. If one part of the roof is failing, we quote that repair. If the whole roof is tired, we price the re-roof alongside it so you can compare the two and decide.
