Roughly a fifth of Hamilton East is Special Residential Zone, which the Hamilton City Council District Plan uses as a special character overlay, and a smaller Special Heritage Zone sits beside it. Older corrugated roofs on these homes have often been replaced once already, and the next re-roof has to keep the look the zone protects. We match the corrugate, ridge and barge details so the house still reads as it should from the footpath.
The suburb also holds 31 listed Built Heritage items, from Beale House on Beale Street to the Oddfellows Hall on Cook Street. Before pricing work on any older building we look it up on the district plan schedule, because listed buildings carry their own rules. That check takes a few minutes and tells us which approach fits.
Away from the character streets you will find the classic state houses of Hayes Paddock, plenty of flats and townhouses, and the Sherwood Park homes built after the suburb was extended over former Ruakura Experimental Farm land in 2000. Each needs a different kind of roof work, and all of it is covered by our character and modern roofing in Hamilton, with a free inspection to start.
