Matangi sits in the Waikato District on the eastern border of Hamilton. The village centre has Matangi School, Matangi Hall, St David's church and a few shops, and around it spread many lifestyle blocks. The Waikato District Plan zones about 95% of the area Rural and 5% Country Living, which is why so many properties combine a family home with sheds, a garage or a workshop.
Its roots are in dairying and the railway. A station opened here on the Cambridge branch in 1884 and took the name Matangi in 1906, a creamery followed in 1885, and in 1921 Matangi was an early customer of the Central Waikato Electric Power Board. With settlement building up over more than a century, roofs of quite different ages can sit side by side.
Matangi is close to the city, and it is a regular stop for our roofing work around Hamilton. Every job starts with a free inspection. We then send a written quote that lists each roof on the property separately, so you can fix what is urgent and plan the rest.
