Riverlea is named after Riverlea House, the homestead on James McPherson's property, which once covered most of modern-day Riverlea and Hillcrest. Today the land is a mix of General Residential housing, an Industrial Zone strip and large areas of natural open space along the gully and the Waikato River. Each of those affects roofs differently, from tree litter in valleys to the heritage rules on one listed building.
Census figures suggest damp is a real issue for many households. For the Riverlea census area, the 2023 Census shows just over a fifth of occupied dwellings, 21.2%, counted as damp always or sometimes, and 16.7% had visible mould at least sometimes. Damp can come from ventilation, heating or the ground as easily as from above. A roof and gutter inspection lets us rule a roof leak in or out before you spend money chasing other causes.
We work in Riverlea as part of roofing for homes across Hamilton, and every quote is written and itemised. If the roof turns out to be sound, we will say so, and you can move on to other fixes with one possibility crossed off.
